Answers before you pick up the phone

Plain answers to what we’re asked most. If yours isn’t here, call; we don’t mind.

Which office should I choose?

Whichever is closest or easiest. All three share one phone number and one calendar, and your file travels with Teemu.

Is the first meeting free?

Yes. It’s an hour to listen and answer questions. If you’d like us to go ahead, you’ll get a written quote first.

Can you visit my parent at home or in care?

Yes, anywhere in St. Louis, Lake and Carlton counties. Tell us when you call, and we’ll plan the visit around their day.

I’m helping a parent. Can I make the call?

Yes. We’ll take the details from you, then meet your parent, partly alone, to make sure the plan is theirs.

What happens to the original papers?

We keep the signed originals in the office vault and send you copies. You can collect the originals whenever you ask.

Do you handle disputes over a will?

We handle disagreements that come up while settling an estate. For a lawsuit over a will, we can refer you to a litigator.

Do I need a lawyer to settle a small estate?

Not always. Some small estates can be handled with an affidavit and no court. We’ll tell you if yours is one, even if that means you don’t need us.

What does it cost?

It depends on the plan or the estate. After the first meeting we send a written quote, and we don’t start work until you’ve agreed to it.

Didn’t see your question here?

Call the office or send a note. We answer within a working day.
